Tips From Victims Help Solve Case

Coopertown, Tennessee

June 2021 started out with some felony theft reports for Coopertown Police Department. Among the items stolen, the main target of the thief’s eye was lumber. With the price of lumber skyrocketing, the victims found that replacing their stolen lumber, purchased just before the theft, had risen in price nearly 60% in about a week. Two of the thefts occurred around the same time off of Battle Creek Road and McMahan Hollow Road, totaling over $15,000. Fortunately, the victims had a keen eye searching the interwebs, waiting to find their stolen items for sale.

Christopher Dresden Dwayne Hollars

Coopertown Police were advised by both victims they discovered their items were being sold online. Officers began investigating the items and profiles and went to work setting up a sting. Thanks to the assistance of Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, Coopertown Police were able to setup an undercover purchase from Christopher Dresden Dwayne Hollars in Cheatham County. In addition to attempting to sell stolen property to undercover officers, Hollars had outstanding warrants in several counties. Cheatham County Sheriff’s Deputies took Hollars into custody for additional charges. Coopertown Police were able to recover a portion of the victim’s property and return it.
