Coopertown, Tennessee <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coopertown Police launched a new community engagement program this summer involving elementary students in grades K-5. Over the summer, our officers read books to students at Coopertown Elementary School attending the Eagle’s Town Aftercare program<\/a>. Coopertown Police coordinated with the director of the Eagle’s Town Aftercare program<\/a>, Tasha Crain, to set up weekly sessions with our officers. The students were full of questions and seemed to enjoy storytime with our officers. <\/p>\n\n\n

Officers read a collection of books from the Little Golden Book series and Dr. Seuss, such as The Sailor Dog<\/a>, The Poky Little Puppy<\/a>, Wonders of Nature<\/a>, Hop on Pop<\/a>, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish<\/a>, Fox in Socks<\/a>, The Cat in the Hat<\/a>, and Green Eggs & Ham<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n

Our officers enjoyed the opportunity to read to the children and answer their many questions. Eagle’s Town Aftercare Director Tasha Crain expressed her appreciation for the officers being there. “Role models are needed and I think they got a chance to see what you all really do for the community” said Crain.<\/p>\n\n\n
