On Tuesday, August 12, 2026, Coopertown Police Chief Tyler Haley presented awards to Police Department employees. Officer Adam King, Sergeant Amanda Baker, and Chief’s Assistant Tiffany Austin all received the Coopertown Police Department Commendation Certificate in recognition of their outstanding service. Their exemplary service reflects great credit upon themselves, the Coopertown Police Department, and the Town of Coopertown.
Officer Adam King and Sergeant Amanda Baker received their Commendation Certificate upon receiving a citizen compliment on how the officers conducted themselves during a motor vehicle collision. Officer King and Sergeant Baker responded to a motor vehicle collision on Tom Austin Hwy on Monday, June 15, 2026, where one of the occupants sustained life-threatening injuries. The patient’s spouse called the department to compliment how the officers maintained their calm under pressure and were quick to assist EMS.
Chie’f Assistant Tiffany Austin received her Commendation Certificate for her efforts in helping organize the Battle of the Badge Softball Tournament to help benefit Greenbrier Police Officer Matthew Hillis after a recent brain tumor diagnosis. Her hard work was paramount in helping make the event a success which helped raise over $9000 for Officer Hillis during his long road to recovery.
