The United Way of Greater Nashville has compiled a list of resources available this holiday season to help those in need. Additionally, some of these programs are seeking volunteers. Here are a few ways we can help our community:
My Father’s House Cold Weather Shelter
Opens Monday, November 15th! Nightly check-in: 5-8PM, check-out: 7AM. Location: 4635 Hwy 41 N, Springfield (Old Armory Building). They are in need of an overnight volunteer 2-3 nights per week, $40 per night pay, must be able to pass a background check. Contact: 615-992-1547.
Give Thanks Meal Kits
Families are encouraged to sign up for the meal kits NOW through November 18th at United Ministries Food Bank during open hours (M-Th 10:30a-1P) OR United Way’s local office, please call ahead: 615-780-2511. Distribution will take place on Friday, November 19th 10a-5:30p at Martin Luther King Jr., Park, 2623 S. Main Street, Springfield. Questions? Contact Ace, 615-780-2511.
Marketplace Insurance Assistance
Wednesday, November 17th 10a-1p Robertson County Family Resource Center, in partnership with Family & Children’s Service, will be providing free help with TennCare, CoverKids and Marketplace. Location: Watauga Elementary School, Room 309, 1755 Lake Road, Ridgetop, TN 37152.
Master’s Table Thanksgiving Lunch
Tuesday, November 23rd from 10AM-12PM, while supplies last. To-go pickup only (no delivery available). Address: 619-B Central Avenue West, Springfield, TN 37172.
Community Thanksgiving Meal
Springfield Baptist Church is hosting a Community Thanksgiving Meal delivery on Thursday, November 25th, 10:30a-1:00p. Call 615-384-3581 to schedule a delivery.
Kiwanis for Kids Christmas Assistance
Families may sign up for Christmas gift assistance NOW through November 30th. The two locations for families to complete an onsite application are:
